Blog Question: Is bullying a rite of passage of childhood and adolescence? Is it a part of the maturation process one needs to go through to reach adulthood? Explain. Mrs. Hogeboom brings up this topic on page 108.
Blog Answer:
I really don't think so. Bullying is something that happens to unfortunate people that usually have done nothing to deserve it. Children who get bullied fear things and people, and to be an adult, you shed away childhood fears. If it was a right of passage, a cruel and twisted one it would be. To have innocent people be hurt physically and emotionally. Bullying itself is highly immature. So to be part of a maturation process, would be horrifically ironic.

Hi, Jula
I agree what you said, but as you can see my opinion is different from you. However after I read your opinion I thought that maybe bulling ISN’T right passage, I think the part “If it was a right of passage, a cruel and twisted one it would be. To have innocent people be hurt physically and emotionally.” convinced me. I really enjoyed reading your opinion
Thank you
Excellent communication between classmates. Well done. Thank you for blogging. R.Cook
i agree with this because in my blog i said that if bullying was a way to mature then when they are older bad things could happen to them like them being sent to jail for beating up a police officer
woah. good language and explanation, you're a REAL grownup. xoxo. and i like what you said too.
